| The Dartmoor National Park - an atmospheric and beautiful place - is the pride of Devon. Inland, hidden between the moorlands and attractive rolling rural scenery, are the quaint villages with thatched cob cottages. The vastly contrasting features make Devon a popular place for holiday makers.
Devon's life is full of different events - from sailing regattas and surfing, to long and tranquil walks, folk, food and garden festivals to vintage car rallies. Classic opera lives in harmony with traditions of modern painting and urban performing art.
Devon is a place to relax and explore the mystery of Dartmoor stone circles. Many writers and artists have found inspiration in Devon's landscapes. Agatha Christie and Samuel Coleridge among many others. 3,500 miles of footpaths along the stunning scenery will inspire you as well.
