The New Forest National Park, initially created in 1079 as a hunting area for William the Conqueror, now it is full of wildlife including ponies and deer. Hampshire has a long maritime history and two of England's largest ports, Southampton and Portsmouth, are situated on its coast. Portsmouth is the only island city in Britain. It is full of enthralling military and naval museums. If you are keen on rediscovering Britain's grand naval history, visiting these ports is a must.
